Find Your Perfect Frame: The Polka Dot Feather

In a unique way, the custom framing process is much like falling in love. You start with literally thousands of choices. You don’t know exactly what you want and along the way you’ll cycle through some good ones, some ok ones and some downright bad ones. But over time you learn and when you find “the one” - you just know it.

In the series, Find Your Perfect Frame, we’re exploring the journey that takes your piece from which one? to the one. Next up - a simple but funky polka dot feather print.

We start out with some darker frames to play off all the white space in both slim and thicker profiles. Seeing two different widths side by side can help determine which overall direction you want to go in.

The thicker profile is feeling nice but we wanted to try some lighter options to see how it would play against the pop of the feather.

Another thought was to bring some graphic frames in for consideration to complement the simple, graphic nature of the feather. Our custom acrylic Prisma frames can’t be beat here - not only are they completely customizable but you can choose from rounded or sharper corners.

In the end, polka dots demand polka dots. We went with a custom rounded corner Prisma frame (sanded to make it a little more subtle) which provides the perfect amount of playful sophistication.
