Lincoln Park Neighborhood Guide

As we mentioned in our River North guide, our locations are in some of the best neighborhoods in all of Chicagoland. And as if coming to see us wasn’t motivation enough, there’s so much to do in each neighborhood you can make an entire day of dining, sipping, strolling and, of course, framing beautiful art.

That’s why we’re sharing our favorite spots to dine, explore and more in the neighborhoods we know so well.

Up next? The mothership of course, otherwise known as Artists Frame Service - Lincoln Park, the shop that started it all on Clybourn and helped transform an abandoned warehouse district into the vibrant shopping and culinary destination it is today.

Where To Get Artistically Inspired

The oldest and ultimate artistic inspiration of all time? Nature of course. Get your dose by checking out the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. Not only is it incredibly family-friendly, you could spend a whole day getting lost in their varied, rotating exhibits from Mysteries of the Marsh and Pattern in Nature to the can'-t miss Butterfly Haven where over 1,000 free-flying butterflies roam a 2700 square-foot greenhouse.

Where To Get A Great Coffee

A relative newcomer to the Chicago coffee scene, Colectivo Coffee in Lincoln Park was the first Chicago cafe for the Milwaukee-based company and was an instant hit with its outdoor patio and fire pits. We’re big fans of the matcha latte, made from scratch pastries and of course the draft cold brew and kombucha is an after-shopping crowd pleaser.

Where To Get A Great Meal

What’s Chicago without a great deep dish pizza? Arguably the best in the city, Pequod’s, is just down the street from us and if you needed an excuse to stop by after a day of framing, look no further. If something a little lighter suits your taste buds better, we can never get enough of Blue Door Farm Stand in our office. Their brussels and kale salad (add chicken!) is amazing and thankfully within DoorDash distance to us.

Where To Find Great Home Decor

A major duh moment, we’d be remiss not to mention that one of the best home stores in the entire city sits right next door to us and is also our sister company. Check out Jayson Home for their eclectic and ever-rotating mix of modern and vintage home furnishings and accessories. The summer is an especially beautiful time to visit when the brick courtyard between our two buildings is transformed into a seasonal garden.

Any In-The-Know Spots Not On A Tour Guide?

Two words. Dirk’s Fish, a fish market and casual grab-and-go meal spot for some of the best, freshest fish in the city. Or as one customer described it, “Dirk’s is like taking a sunrise walk on a sandy beach.” Pro tip - the salmon burgers are the best we’ve ever had, but MUST be paired with their spicy mustard sauce.
