How To Get Your Home Ready For The Holidays

The holiday season is upon us which in Chicago means a lot of time spent indoors with family and friends. Often last on the decorating priority list, the guest bedroom (or bedrooms) is surely a place you’ll want showing nicely for those out-of-town guests. Consider a creative display of artwork over the bed and feel free to go a little funkier than you might elsewhere in your home. Whether you opt for an eclectic display or one to two oversized pieces, a touch of art = a touch of hospitality in any space.

The undisputed hub of the home, don’t overlook the kitchen as a prime spot for artistic touches. Large scale prints - like the apropos apple and pear posters above - are great for a blank wall. Or, if you don’t have a ton of wall space consider a grouping of smaller pieces on a picture ledge layered with cookbooks, plants, candles and other keepsakes.
